Caves Beach Surf Life Saving Club provides an ideal aquatic environment and lifestyle for both residents and the hundreds of visitors it services daily. Our members are a core community service providing the public with a safe and friendly beach year round to maximise the publics’ enjoyment.

Caves Beach S.L.S.C was founded in 1929. Over these years many, many hundreds of community members have been trained in the skills of Surf Lifesaving.

With 420 members aged from 5 to over 80 years of age we collectively contribute over 3500 hours of beach patrols each season.

Caves Beach Surf Life Saving Club is known as the “family club”.

We welcome all to join the club and participate in an active and healthy lifestyle that epitomises the strength and character of the Australian way of life.

Apart from their donation each year they allow us to conduct one of our major fundraisers, our raffle, on their premises. For this raffle to be successful we require people to assist, the more volunteers, the more evenly spread the workload.

The raffle goes from 5:30pm till about 6:30pm.

Surf Club Repairs/Redevelopment

The club executive have now engaged Schriber – Hamilton architects to prepare a development application for submission to Lake Macquarie city council based on the  master plan concept drawings. The concept drawings have been developed in consultation with architects and presented at a club committee meeting. The re development will not proceed unless funding is secured and all appropriate approvals have been obtained.

The plan incorporates;

-The creation of extra gear storage and meeting room facilities

-Redevelopment of  the internal areas to provide improved facilities for members

-The provision of glass facades on the ground and first floor levels to maximise the view of the beach and adjoining -grassed recreation area.

-An extensive walk out balcony.

-Improved security measures for the facility.

The included drawings show a proposed layout and a perspective view of the appearance of the building.

At this point in the development process the executive committee would welcome constructive input and suggestions from members to one of the most exciting projects our club has embraced. Members can provide suggestions, comments and direct enquiries to info@cavesslsc.com.au or contact Darryl on 0409 180 931

New Sponsors Now Supporting Our Club

Caves would like to welcome to the club two new sponsors for 2008.

The approach of winter means one thing for some club members- IRB racing. Our team braving those winter months this year will be the best equipped on the eastern seaboard thanks to the support of Neptune wetsuits. Neptune have developed a wetsuit suitable for the rigours of IRB duties and have chosen Caves to trial, demonstrate and promote their products amongst the IRB and surf life saving fraternity. They will also be providing a selection of wetsuits for our patrolling IRB drivers throughout the summer, keeping our guys and girls warm whilst carrying out their patrols.

National Sales Manager John Rigby and the Neptune team are looking forward to a rewarding partnership with Caves through Neptune, and rest assured Caves will be doing our best to promote Neptune at every opportunity.

Exciting new products will be made available to club members at significant discounts so keep an eye on the websites for updates. Our team of IRB competitors have already attired themselves in the new "sharkskin"tops to keep out the winter chills on the beach. For al the latest info on the sharkskin gear go to www.sharkskin.com.au
