Want to be a patrolling club member of Caves?
Or do you enjoy competition? If you are under 15 years of age refer to our Juniors section. If you are over 15 years the first step is to obtain your Bronze Medallion (Certifcate II in Public Safety – Aquatic Rescue).
Caves Beach is pleased to offer this accredited course. Undertaking the Bronze requires both time and dedication. Usually taking 6-8 weeks to complete, it involves approximately one evening per week learning the theory and at least one session per week on the beach learning rescue techniques.
Extra time is needed for study and practce. We advise that you do not undertake this course unless you are prepared to work hard. But the benefits are immense. After completing your Bronze, you may continue with your surf education by undertaking your Advanced Resuscitation Certificate, your Silver Medallion or if IRB interests you, your IRB Crewman or Drivers. The Bronze opens up the doors for Surf Life Saving. By undertaking your award at Caves Beach, you are obliged to join a Caves Patrol.
